VLC does the job of Playing any damn video format on PC: Windows, Mac. How about doing the same on Android?

You can hunt down in Android market and install individual apps to support individual codecs or use one single app that does all of them with no problem at all.

A new app is now available on the market and its called VPlayer aka VLC player for Android coz it supports the following video formats playback:

  • DivX/Xvid
  • .Flv
  • .Rmvb
  • .Avi
  • .Mkv
  • .Wmv
  • .Mp4
  • and a few other uncommon video formats.

The app is very easy to use and works with Froyo (or higher). The app is available on the android market, scan the following QR code to get started:

    Tried all the usual suspects to play wmv files: Mobo Buzz, rock, etc., etc.  None worked.  This (VPlayer) worked immediately and the quality was very good.  Caution when you make or have too hi res versions as they stutter slightly.  As these are my own, I will test lower res but where I had a good compromise, it played well.

    This saved me, Moby & MX player stopped playing wmv and mov on my Acer A500 after upgrading to ICS. I found this just in time for my meeting to save the day! It plays everything so far!
